Roundtable members use computers to indicate the most important issues confronting freshwater fisheries.
Members had a wide-variety of diverse backgrounds representing a great deal of expertise and experience and openly contributed their insights.
Use of a professional facilitator and computer equipment provided opportunities for everyone to have a say and contribute equally.
Although a wide-range of backgrounds, professions and interests gathered for the meeting many common themes and concerns came out.
Freshwater Fisheries Management Division staff were present to answer questions and listen, but did not contribute to the voting.
The commitment of the Roundtable members to engage in a meaningful dialogue, and help address these challenges was evident.
The future of this group holds great promise for helping to shape a vision for the future of freshwater fisheries from the grass roots level.
Roundtable participants will continue to provide advice and guidance, and may choose to organize themselves further as a voice for Florida's fisheries
